Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville responded to a call about a woman slumped over against the wall at Margaritaville. Officers located 27-year-old Shelby Measel, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated and reeked of alcohol. She refused all medical assistance yet still appeared to be "very out of it," according to one officer on the scene. She continued to be very uncooperative and demanded her lawyer. Due to her extreme level of intoxication and inability to care for herself, she was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.
