42-year-old local musician Joshua Peyton tried to exit Redneck Riviera without paying for their services around 2:00 a.m. on April 5th. When officers arrived, they located him and spoke with Calla Carpenter, a bartender for the establishment that witnessed this, about a resolution for him to pay his tab. Before their arrival, Peyton ran up a $17.18 tab, so officers tried to get him to pay it, during which they noticed he showed numerous signs of intoxication. Officers gave him multiple chances to call a friend or his wife to pick him up, but Peyton never called anyone. Peyton told officers, “No one needs to pick me up because I am going to get in my truck and drive home.” When officers told Peyton that he would not be getting in his vehicle and needed someone to pick him up, he stated, “Y'all should just arrest me then.” Peyton was then deemed a danger to himself and taken into custody for theft of services and public intoxication.
