2 Tourists dead in Nashville, 1 revived, suspected Fentanyl overdoses while downtown
Nashville Police are investigating the suspected overdose deaths (potentially fentanyl) of two men and the revival of a third man who were all found unresponsive on 6th Avenue North downtown at 4:40 a.m. today. The deceased are identified as Joshua Wolfe, 34, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and Karl Smith, 25, of Lac la Biche, Alberta, Canada. The survivor, who was revived after being administered Naloxone, is a 26-year-old friend of Wolfe and is also from Elkhorn, Nebraska. The two Nebraska men arrived in Nashville together last Friday and were due to leave today. Smith was visiting Nashville with a relative and was also due to leave today. There is no indication that Smith and the two Nebraska men knew each other prior to apparently meeting in the entertainment district last night/early this morning.
